I've read both series and now on the short stories. The series are some of my favorite from over the years. I've hoped too see additional books in both series.
It's remarkable that after humankind has spent hundreds, thousands, of years at sea, something that looks like design flaws still takes ships to the bottom.
I know it's impossible to remove all risks from ocean travel, but this seems like an issue that could have been anticipated and mitigated. Or maybe fate plays a bigger role than I imagine 🤷
Matt is right about the thumping sound of a swing keel while at anchor or on a run. Even on our Catalina 22 it is so annoying.
