[Written in 2002. Events like this could happen in 2025 if President Harris carries out her threats to ban semi-automatic weapons by executive decree.]
In my imagination, Rebel Yell is all fixed up and repainted, and ready for a trip back to Jamaica with a full load of drums of diesel and gasoline. But in real life, I'm not going to write another novel for a while.
So you're "THE Matt Bracken". One of the best books I've ever read is Enemies Foreign and Domestic. Who knows how many copies were sold to friends that I recommended it too. I'm going to have to get the rest of the series which I didn't even know existed since I purchased the first one.
That's a great compliment! I think the plot and characters in EFAD stand up well even today, but I also believe my writing craft has improved a lot too.
and You Know It's Coming Too. ...... that You Don't "Want" it is Totally Irrelevant, Comrades.
Si vis pacem para bellum
I need to make time to re-read EF&D soon - it's been a minute.
Also hoping that the boatyard repair/refit on the Rebel Yell is already underway.

Understood. DR probably Still takes plenty of your time.
Rebel Yell has been a great "anchor" for some of your best stories, and some of the most enjoyable I've read.
I appreciate all the time and effort you put into bringing those stories to us.

That's why I write, so thank you. But at 67 I can tell I'm running out of steam in some respects.
Imagine that. After what we just recently experienced during the "pandemic" what could possibly go wrong?
Oh, man. Just one act of incompetence after another. Too real!
One of my favorite parts of the book. So easy to see it happen in real life.

If you haven’t read the trilogy I highly recommend you do! And take notes! 📝.
